Contributing to the technological development of companies

The Research and Development Centre and the two Institut de Soudure schools in France bring innovation to industry.

  • Three applied R&D teams dedicated respectively to joining technologies (arc, laser, hybrid laser, electron beam, friction stir welding, brazing); modelling and characterisation of materials and assemblies (corrosion, fatigue, fracture); non destructive testing (industrial maintenance, new equipments, composites). These teams work in collaborative research projects (EC, ANR, DGE, competitiveness poles, etc.) with other R&D laboratories or directly for industry.

  • Two higher education schools: ESSA (École Supérieure du Soudage et de ses Applications - Advanced School of Welding and its Applications), a one year course for engineers and academic staff, and EAPS (École d’Adaptation aux Professions du Soudage – School for Adaptation to the Welding Trades) designed for senior technicians, also with a one year specialization in the field of welding.

  • Publications and standardization: Analysis of the worldwide welding publications and monitoring of standards.

  • The industrial members department helps you save time and keeps you up to date will all technological innovations in welding. This department organises about ten conferences every year on specific topics for its members, access to international techno-watch and quarterly technical documentation, technical information on request, access to cooperative research.
