Institut de Soudure can carry out inspection and supervision in the field of Pressure Vessels, metallic structure construction, piping and pipelines (land and offshore). Main activities are detailed as follows:
Member of ASAP - French Notified Body for Pressure Vessels – Institut de Soudure ensures the conformity of new pressure vessels and the follow-up of in-service equipment. Inventorying, checking of equipment at commissioning, periodical requalification, checking after intervention. The manufacturing of high-tech pressure vessels and boilers elements is increasingly requiring the skills and the comprehensive offer of Institut de Soudure experts. Our inspector teams work on the conformity of new equipment as well as on periodical inspection. Plant shutdown, in-welding inspection, qualification of welders and of welding process specifications, testing of anti-corrosion coatings, packaging inspection, acceptance of supplies. The use of advanced techniques such as metallographic examination, stress evaluation (X-Ray, stress gauge), SEM and chemical analysis, allows our specialists to perform expertise on welded, surfaced, brazed components, or even non-welded components, in steel or non-ferrous alloys. Institut de Soudure organizes certification examinations for NDT personnel and welding inspectors. Our company animates 4 exams centers for certification in Non Destructive Testing approved by the COFREND. Institut de Soudure is able to certificate or accredit technicians in Non Destructive Testing techniques, according to ASNT TC1A, EN 473 and ISO 9712.

Institut de Soudure is the founding member of the Competitiveness Hub MIPI "Innovating Materials Intelligent Processes" labelized by the National Ministry. IS is driving the thematic focus on "Assembly". The Institut de Soudure is involved in 6 European projects (Tofdproof, Wel-Air, Enpower, EuroStir, Deepweld, Hiprotig) about developing innovative technologies for assembly and controls. Its ability to educate engineers from the entire world, makes it a most in the field of welding training. During its 72 years of existence, the school has trained approximatively 1.800 students, including 300 overseas engineers from 42 countries.
